• Installed on a new client site and installed reCaptcha. Set up API keys properly and tested contact form. Worked perfectly.

However, the official reCaptcha plugin is incredibly sparse.

When I went back to login to WordPress later, “Invalid API keys”. Could not login.

Tested contact form again, still worked perfectly and received a test email.

Disabled recaptha plugin, logged in and went to recaptha settings. NO option to turn if off for other places and ONLY have it on the contact form.

Luckily I found BWS reCaptcha plugin. This plugin uses reCaptcha properly but gives options to disable it in all other places. It must use the official protocols because it still works properly on the contact form.

I would highly recommend this to people over the official reCaptcha plugin that has zero options.
