    Hi,

After installing your excellent plugin, I’m receiving a ton of 404 error emails.

/culture-podcast-management-podcast/page/11?et_blog (the last bit of the URL is something that doesn’t say anything to me)
    /about-chris-smit (which indeed doesn’t exist)
/dubai-cancel (a page that is set to “draft” in the backend)

    Just to name a few.

What should I do with these pages and how important are they and who is doing this? A (Google) bot?

    Thanks!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Yes I have the exact same issue. Is there anything to be done? How does one sift through all the spam url calls to find the broken urls that need fixing? I’m getting a lot of queries such as wp/wp-login.php OR plugins/jqueryupload/server/php/?file=tf2rghf.jpg
    like an attack?

In the end, I simply switched up that reporting function.

I checked out some errors, but they didn’t amount to anything.

As for the “attacks”: I use WordFence and make weekly backups using Updraft.

    Good luck!

    Hey guys,

    Sorry for the late reply.

Email notifications are sent for every 404 errors on your website. You can disable email notification and still see the logs from the WordPress admin. You can also ignore those errors by using the exclude path option.

I am currently working on a complete revamp of the plugin which will include a few more options for better 404 handling.

    Hi,

I’ve disabled this email reporting option.

Can you explain the use of this if you get that many confusing emails (10’s per day, if not more).

    thx

    Hey @chrissmit,

It shouldn’t be confusing because those are real 404 links to your site. Please check the referral data to see where the 404s comes from.
