• Hi,
I recently had to deal with the “Error no connection to database” thing where all my wp pages were white w this error message. I checked all the proper settings, researched, and all php files correct, MySql correct, it was nothing I did, however, my webhost finally “fixed” it —so badly that they reverted my wp to an older version, and I have lost all the customization I did to make my site have sales buttons & links to buy artwork, etc…the Theme is no longer in my WP themes page, and I havent been able to find it or remember its name.

A few days ago, my site was fine. Now, I’ve lost all of it.
    Does anyone recognize this theme?
    EDIT: Found it! It’s OXYGEN.

But, when I reinstalled it, still lost all customization.

I have pictures of the old theme, trying to include here.old theme

  • Hi,

You could have potentially avoided this by doing two things :

    1. Using a child theme
    2. Creating offsite backups

I realise that this advice is probably too late, but going forward, why don’t you put all your customisations into a child theme and use a backup service to pull down daily (or whatever) backups of the site?
