An incorrect index.html file was mistakenly copied over the index.html file for my blog.

How can I get the original back?

  • WordPress doesn’t use index.html files. If you need to replace one of the original WordPress index.php files, you can download a fresh archive and replaced just that file. https://wordpress.org/download/

If it was your themes index.php file, replace it with a copy from your last backup or a new copy from the theme download.

If you were to go to my blog, you would find a page (index.html) that was accidentally copied into that directory. Are you saying that if I go and delete this file my main blog page will be back?

Thanks for the info. I figure the site is messed up anyway, what can happen if I delete the offending file. Si I did and voila my blog is back.
    Thanks!

    You’re welcome!
