lost purchased theme and data when reloading wordpress

  • My WordPress dashboard wasn’t showing all features for the theme I purchased (i.e., header/footer for pages).

So, I tried reinstalling WordPress through Simple Scripts in my BlueHost account.

The theme and custom upgrade I purchased ($98) are gone, as well as ALL my pages.

Basically I am starting a website from scratch. I tried importing the files I exported (to my computer so I could reload) and it won’t read it.

I’m desperate for some help to fix this…

  • You have the recent backup?

    1. see if Bluehost can get you a backup of your files and database. If so you can restore from that, otherwise it is a rebuild if you have no backup.

You can however typically re download the premium theme most devs are kind to that and if you have proof of purchase it should not be a problem.

Also finally and most important, always backup before making changes
