Support » Fixing WordPress » Lost Posts in WordPress Importer

  • Hi All,

I recently exported a xml file of my posts, etc. through the WordPress Importer. When I attempt to import them I only get half of the posts. Does anyone have a solution for this? I even found another plugin to try to import the file but had the same problem. I know the posts are there because I can search their titles in notepad. I am missing 100’s of posts.

I am using the same version of WordPress, tried two different themes, disabled all plugins and although the WordPress Importor took forever to load the file, the other plugin did it quicker.

If there is no solution to the above problem can someone suggest a way to extract the post’s texts so we can manually pull out the posts and repost them to our site. Or a way to cut the xml file in pieces in case it is getting held up at a certain point in the script.

All help is appreciated. We are really in a bind here.

How large is the export xml file?

    Hi Thanks for the reply.

It is 23 MB but I have increased my permissions in php.ini to 100MB for both upload size and file size.

I wonder if it may also be noteworthy to mention that databases which this export xml file originated from has been deleted?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.
