 * I’m new to WP and blogging in general. I originally set up via Godaddy but while
   following the instructions of another blogger I switched to Bluehost. After switching
   I lost 2 blog posts–not a lot but my blogging is part of my doctoral work and
   it would be really great if I could recover them. Any help is appreciated!

 * – useful codex guide for changing servers: [https://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress#Moving_to_a_New_Server](https://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress#Moving_to_a_New_Server)

 * – if you have good database backup from your old server, use that to restore
   your database: [http://codex.wordpress.org/Restoring_Your_Database_From_Backup](http://codex.wordpress.org/Restoring_Your_Database_From_Backup)

 * Another way to find those missing posts would be to search google, They still
   might be in google cache. In that case you just copy and recreate those psts.
   So, take a peek at indexed Google entries for your site: [https://www.google.com/#q=inurl:example.net](https://www.google.com/#q=inurl:example.net)

 * Tara,
 * Thanks for your help. If I didn’t have phpMyAdmin previously installed am I out
   of luck? I’d never heard of it. This is a tech realm with which I am completely
   unfamiliar. Is php a database itself or a tool for searching WP’s database? Does
   WP(.org) automatically back up sites, or does that happen on the nameservers
   and only when specifically set up?
