  • I was installing wordpress and everything was going well. In the installation page I was about to copy my password so I could sign in as the “admin”, but I accidently pressed the back button on my browser window: This is the message I got:
You appear to already have WordPress installed. If you would like to reinstall please clear your old database files first.
I tried erasing all the .php files from my server and then moving a fresh wordpress back on to my server. But that didn’t help. Now I can’t sign in because I don’t have the password. And I can’t have the password sent to my email because it doesn’t have my email. If I can’t fix this very soon, I’m going to have to erase wordpress from my server and use another blogging technology.

  • am in the same dilemma
only that i copy pasted my pass, username: admin, and nothing. just reloaded the WP again
I have just downloaded the nightly version, and was ready to upload it, when the server fell.
anyway, if someone can tell us where to find the pass, y tried to look at mySQL but didnt find it

    Errrr I know…isn’t it annoying?

If nothing is in your tables yet, have you tried to remove the WP tables from the database?

Where and what are the WP tables? I removed everything from my database, twice already.
