[Resolved] Lost Page

  • I created a page on my website and when I try to view the page, I am greeted with my 404 error (page not found). The page that I am trying to view is http://www.bikeinreview.com/advocacy/. I am running WP 3.5 with a very lightly edited PageLines theme (v1.3.3).

I had a contact page up at one point and that page has also been ‘lost’ (www.bikeinreview.com/contact/).

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • I don’t know exactly what is going on, but your Permalinks are probably the problem as http://www.bikeinreview.com/advocacy/ is looking for all Posts in the Category “advocacy” instead of what you want: a Page called advocacy.

You’re right. It has something to do with the URL structure. I created a page called advocacy-2 and that worked fine. I deleted the old advocacy page, renamed advocacy-2 to advocacy and the problem came back.

I’ll keep tinkering with it and see if I can fix it. If someone has an idea on what to do, I would appreciate it!

Figured it out. I had created a page titled the same as a category. Accessing the ‘page’ URL was also trying to access the list of posts in that category. I didn’t have any posts in that category yet, so it wasn’t displaying anything.

    Thanks for the tip, jonradio!
