Lost of the GEO EXIF

Hi all.

It is important for me (and SEO to) geo position of my images.

I add this position to the .JPG file. When I upload this image to the wordpress, in the original size is OK, but this EXIF information disappears in the other images sizes (smaller) that wordpress makes.

I am using smush and I set “OFF” for preserve EXIF information.

Where is the problem?

Hi @mariosetien,

With “Strip my image metadata” option turned off Smush shouldn’t be stripping EXIF from your image, however, this doesn’t affect the default WP image processing so I’m wondering if this could be the cause here.

Can you try disabling Smush completely and then upload the same image and see if the same data gets stripped?

If I disable Smush completely, the EXIF information disappears too in the other images sizes (smaller) that wordpress makes.

Hello @mariosetien ,

If Smush is not causing this there is not much we can do about it.

I suggest performing a full plugin conflict test https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/wordpress-plugin-conflicts-how-to-check-for-them-and-what-to-do/
