I did not save my wp-cofig before i started editing or revising it again!

I thought I was adding everything back in it with name and all but it want find it to log in. I did not mess with anything else. I have this running on myYahoo server. Through my account as Handy2.com. Nothing I do matters in finding the User and site info. I have looked through all the php files. I have trying to see if it logged me in or set the setting anywhere else. So far it was just the wp-config that seems to hold it together. Where can I find the answers. Is it saved anywhere else? I have tried a least 30 different times I guess to get it to shake hands and bring myblog back online.

Is the secrete key different every time you go to see it. If so I guess that is why I can not getting the blog. What am I too do?

  • Download a fresh copy of WordPress, extract the wp-config-sample.php file from the downloaded archive and use a copy of that file to re-create your own wp-config.php file.

And, no, the secret key doesn’t change.

thank you I will try that out. Glad to hear the key stays the same. I can stop worrying about that. I reinstalled my mysql and set it up and then now going to try it out!Hope it works.

That error is quite literally right 99.99999% of the time, so double, triple, and quadruple check what you have entered. If that all seems perfectly correct, confirm the values with your hosting provider and ask them if there’s anything wrong with MySQL today.

i have tried many combination. I only use a few so that is why I am so confused. So I have a Blog up at http://handy2.wordpress.com
Now I am thinking that this doesn’t resided at my website. So can I get what I have now and move to my website server so I can edit and change things around. Or is it better that I stay where I am? Heard if it is not broken don’t fix it! It is working now. I want to add advertisement and have downloads. Would it not be better at my website which was to be http://www.handy2.com/myblog than use the http://handy2.wordpress.com site?

    That’s a wordpress.com hosted site!

Is there going to be charges on the wordpress site. Should I be on my own server if I have one. If so what do I do to get it to my site. Start all over? Goosh I hope not. Although I am getting to know a bit more on setting up every time I have to start over. That is why I was looking for my first site.

Moving handy2.wordpress.com to a self-installed WordPress blog at handy2.com/myblog is actually quite easy. Follow this guide:

Woow! That is great information. I see now how to do it. Thank You….
Next questions would be the pros and cons of having your web server? What would be a great answer on why one should be here @ WordPress and not ones on server. Or is there more benefit’s on having your own website if you have one?

I think this will answer your question:

You are good. You have taken me to the right places to review what I needed to know. I can tell you like what you are doing cause you have the right answers. Something I don’t see in other places I need info. Thank You over again.

I don’t know if I read it right. If I have my on site I can advertise and here at wordpress I can not unless I go to a pay plan. I do want to advertise and set up a click account which I have already set up!
Humm to do or not to do???????

But you two have been very helpful, again Thanks……….

    You’re welcome!

If I have my on site I can advertise and here at wordpress I can not unless I go to a pay plan.

That is correct. You can advertise as much as you want with your own installation of WordPress on your own hosting provider. You can only advertise with wordpress.com if you have over 25,000 pageviews/month (you then split the revenue 50/50 with wordpress.com) or you pay them for VIP hosting.
