my blog is http://www.digicamlab.com everything was fine on 30th of march then i went away for a week so i pre posted things.. came back on 9th looked at blog.. in firefox it was fine. in i.e the theme was all broken up and all over the place.

so i thought it was a post so i started deleting previous posts about 8 of them.. still no change.. so i backed up my file in phpadmin

then wiped out wordpress which was 1.5 then when i reinstalled wordpress it was 2.02 i then went back into phpadmin to restore the file and see if it was fixed.. but it wont accept the file in upload... it keeps timing out says 300 seconds timeout..

so i have lost MONTHS Of work.. how can i restore the file if it keeps timing out??

you can also try a few other things:

    1. if you have direct access (TCP) to your SQL server, you can use a third-party tool to upload the SQL data. the timeout is PHP itself timing out.

    2. if you have shell access, you can upload the data file, and use mysql from the command line to import the data.

    3. if you have a nice admin/host, they can import the file for you.

Rule of thumb, NEVER delete posts or wipe an install just because your theme isn't looking right. Usually that's indicative of an actual CSS issue, that needs to be fixed, not a code issue... In many cases, it's an image that's too wide to fit the constraints of a theme, or an unterminated/unclosed tag in an earlier block.

(and yes, I myself have gone through debugging similar issues... and they are a BITCH.)
