Lost jetpack subscribers list on activating again

  • I created a development version of my site for changing it’s look and feel. My production URL is http://www.kevinwest.org and devlopment URL was dev.kevinwest.org. I activated a new Jetpack plugin in my development site and my subscribers in my production site started getting post notifications for all posts from development site as well. As part of trying to fix that I h reactivated my plug-in in the production site and I lost my entire list of subscribers. Is there a way to retreive them? Please get back ASAP.

With Jetpack, your subscribers and your stats are connected to a unique blog ID.

If you created a new site using the same ID, you may have created a conflict between the 2 sites, and when you disconnected one of the sites from WordPress.com you may have created a new blog ID. When this happens, it may appear that your subscribers were lost. They are in fact still associated with the other Blog ID.

I had a look at your site, and your subscribers still seem to be associated to your site. Have you managed to solve the issue by yourself?

If you still experience issues, could you contact us via the contact form below, and send us the Site IDs associated with both sites (you can find that information by clicking on the “Debug” link at the bottom of the Jetpack menu in your dashboard.

The issue is still there. Previously we had 160+ followers, now only 12. The blog ID is different from the previous version. I tried changing it back to previous version but still no use. WordPress.com account to which it is associated now is different. We have no clue what the previous account was since it was done by another company. WE do have the options table backed up from the previous version. Is it possible to retrieve from that options table user token, blog token values?

Could you send us the 2 blog IDs via this form, so we can investigate further?

    Thank you!

I have sent it. Were you able to investigate further?

    Thanks for your email.

I have fixed the issue, and replied to your email. Could you go the Jetpack menu in your dashboard, and disconnect / reconnect to WordPress.com? Once you have done so, your followers will be back under your main site.

To avoid any other issues, I would recommend deactivating Jetpack on your dev site.
