 * On a page I want to have the text:
    “Op zaterdagavond houdt Jaap van der Weg
   een lezing” in which the words “Jaap van der Weg” are in italic and have a different
   color to indicate a link to a popup window. So I included the following text
   in mij page content: “Op zaterdagavond houdt <span style=”color:#0099ff”>[popup_trigger
   id=jvdweg]<i>Jaap van der Weg</i>[/popup_trigger]</span> een lezing”. Saving
   this page delivered the result as expected. But when I turn to view mode in the
   editor the contents become: “Op zaterdagavond houdt
 * < class=”popmake-jvdweg “>Jaap van der Weg
    een lezing” which is not what was
   intended. Switching back to text mode in the editor results in: “Op zaterdagavond
   houdt
 * [popup_trigger id=jvdweg]<i>Jaap van der Weg</i>[/popup_trigger]
 * een lezing”
    So the formatting is lost.

 * [@prosim](https://wordpress.org/support/users/prosim/) There are several ways
   to add in custom stylings via CSS to your popup. Adding in inline-styles via
   the content editor is not one of them (as you discovered to your displeasure).

   [Please consult this article in our plugin documentation to address your issue.](http://docs.wppopupmaker.com/article/287-getting-started-with-custom-css)
   I believe you will find one of the recommended solutions will address your needs.

 * [@yogaman5020](https://wordpress.org/support/users/yogaman5020/) – In this case
   he is talking about having an issue with the line breaks caused by the visual
   shortcode previews in the editor.
 * [@prosim](https://wordpress.org/support/users/prosim/) I think this is the doc
   you are after: [Why Is My Shortcode Being Created on a New Line?](http://docs.wppopupmaker.com/article/185-why-is-my-shortcode-being-created-on-a-new-line).

 * **[@yogaman5020](https://wordpress.org/support/users/yogaman5020/)** – The inline
   formatting has to do with the appearance of the link to the popup, not with the
   formatting of the popup itself. So I think
 * **[@danieliser](https://wordpress.org/support/users/danieliser/)** is right:
   My problem related the inserted line break. I am happy with solution option #
   1. Thanks!
