I lost all my variations on the most recent update. The attributes still exist, but the product level variations and all associated information has disappeared. Any idea if the missing data exists in the db? Recovery is preferable to re-entry…

Maybe a problem with my mySQLi version?

    EDIT: Additional information
The prices in my products view (back-end) still reflect a variation even though that information has disappeared from the individual products. Front-end products are unable to add to cart.

Thank you, worked perfect on the first try!

    For newbies:
Go to the phpMyadmin section of your cPanel, back up the db in question, then run the UPDATE statement linked above.

Much thanks Mike. I manage a dozen other eCommerce store, is the bug going to be fixed in another update?

The bug for which I submitted a PR will be in 3.0.1

This happened to our site as well. Cost us over $4K in lost revenue by the time we found the fix. About to the end of my rope with woocommerce. This is the third time we have been shutdown by their lack of testing. It would be cheaper for us to pay $1,000 a month to some big online cart company .. with the number of outages that woocommerce has caused our site. These guys want you to use their software, but they don’t even take the time to test it.

We installed, checked it. Then boom, all the variations start to disappear.

@robsatx New releases have beta and release-candidate testing periods (this one spanned months and was done by many, many users), but that cannot account for all environments, thats why we say you should test MAJOR updates on a staging or test environment before hitting the button. https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-update-your-site/

Can this code be updated through putty? And if so how?

The fix did not work for me.

Since the update yesterday, the issues I have are more than just lost variations. When I enter into a product page I am unable to see Attributes, Variations, etc. In addition the product page itself is all screwed up. Tables and areas for text inputs are all over the place.

Here is another issue: if I have a product showing as IN STOCK and I do a quick edit, touch nothing, and press UPDATE, the products becomes OUT OF STOCK. This happens only with Products that have Variations.

    Any advice?

@francis1969 I advise you to revert the update from a backup or by downloading a previous version. you should test this update on a test environment before using it live. I think a theme or plugin is not compatible with WooCommerce and is causing issues for your site.

You are right! I deactivated all the plugins except WOOCOMMERCE. Now all is back to normal.

I will have to find the culprit one at a time.

    Cheers.

Actually it worked only once and then nothing once again…

I activate only woocommmerce plugin and yes, I was able to see the variations. Then I updated the price of the product. Then I reentered the product and it now shows NO ATTRIBUTES and NO VARIATIONS. I tested this with several products and true enough, you can at first see the variations but you when you update anything at all, the next time all is lost once again.

Any ideas apart from restoring a backup?

    Plugin Author Mike Jolley (a11n)

    (@mikejolley)

@francis1969 it sounds like the issue that PR above fixes. The gist I posted will restore the variations.

TL;DR if the type changes from variable to simple, variations are deleted.

    francis1969

    (@francis1969)

I did the fix after deactivating the plugin that was affecting the update (it was a YITH WooCommerce Product Bundles something something). I am able to see the variations after that. However, if I make any changes to the product, the variations disappear. But it still shows up as a Variable Product.

I decided to test and ADD a new product. It will not let me add variations. I can add Attributes (sizes) but when I try to load them in Variations, it returns a message that says I have no attributes to load into variations.

I am still perplexed at to the extent that this update has affected my ability to have a website functioning properly. I realise that your policy is caveat emptor but this is a nightmare regardless.

We have same problem, no more variations… πŸ™

We are not software pros, tried the link, but it is not user friendly for us.

When can we expect a new update? or how can we fixe this fast ? It is a Big problem to run a e-business with software problem.

I am throwing in the towel and restoring a backup. This is taking up way too much time. I should be focusing on making sales not damage control.
