• The latest update was horrendous. It was an update containing a forced broken migration strategy. Now with the update in place, I’m at a loss for how to retrieve my old downloads. Maybe restore from a database backup and find and manually install previous installation of the plugin to read them.

I wish I could add another review, I was forced to use this plugin again in 2016, and it has not gotten any better. Simply on activation it brings my site to a crippling halt with 500 server errors.

Why do the authors of this plugin insist on premium features when they can’t deliver a baseline feature set without having detrimental effects on their consumers?

You are writing this review even without checking support forum, also you didn’t read notice in welcome screen after update. I see you also have some plugin in wp.org repo, as a plugin author you should understand those basic things. Anyhow to migrate old data go to Admin Menu >> Download >> Settings >> Migrate. You can get back to previous version from here https://wordpress.org/plugins/download-manager/developers/
