# Lost Admin Rights

 * Our old web admin person is no longer available. They only gave us Editor rights
   to our WordPress site. Is there a way to recover Super Admin rights? Any suggestions
   would be appreciated on a route to take. We own the domain and can sure provide
   verification if that might help.

 * You need access to your database or to a terminal in your hosting to update your
   user’s profile.
    - Database. You can use [phpMyAdmin](https://wordpress.org/documentation/article/phpmyadmin/)
      to do this.
    - Terminal. You can use `[wp user](https://developer.wordpress.org/cli/commands/user/)`
      to do this.
