    Hi there,

It looks like my IP got blocked by my site even though I only had one failed login attempt (it’s set for 3 in settings).

How do I access my site now? And for future how do I whitelist my IP if ISP uses dynamic IPs?

    Thank you.

    Hi,

What you can do is the following, rename the plugin folder via FTP to something like all-in-one-wp-security-and-firewall-temp. Then log into your website again. Rename the plugin folder back to its original name. Enable the plugin and go to Dashboard -> Locked IP Addresses tab and unlock your IP address.

And for future how do I whitelist my IP if ISP uses dynamic IPs?

Unfortunately that can’t be done. The whitelist feature only works with static IP addresses.

    Thank you

Update. I accessed the wp admin and unlocked that IP from another IP.
The question is still there. Why did it lock me out after 1 failed login and how to whitelist in case of dynamic IP changes?

Yeah, it’s easier just to access from a different IP without renaming and FTP hassle.
So what caused the locking after 1 attempt?

    Hi,

So what caused the locking after 1 attempt?

What other settings do you have enable in the plugin? For example: If you had the whitelist feature active then that could cause your IP address to get lock out. This is because you mentioned above that your host is using dynamic IP addresses. If you did not have the whitelist feature active then another setting might have triggered your IP address getting locked.

Also, do you have Instantly Lockout Invalid Usernames feature enabled? If you do, this could also lock you out.

Let me know if you need more information or help.

    Thank you

    Hi,

Instantly Lockout Invalid Usernames might be my case.

    Thank you.
