# Lost a post with WordPress update

 * I lost a post of mine in what I believe was with a recent WordPress update. I
   have a backup but I don’t that is in SQL format but I don’t know how to recover
   the post, can anyone help?

   if it has your missing post. (An update will not delete a post.)

 * Yeah, thanks, [@sterndata](https://wordpress.org/support/users/sterndata/). I
   have tried that with no luck. I see one capture, but it’s a 404.  * If not the update, do you have any idea how that particular post was deleted?
   I am the only person with access to the backend.

 * No idea. Is it visible under posts->all posts or pages->add pages?

 * No, it isn’t. I have found a few posts mentioning to search in the Trash, but
   I can’t find the Trash folder either.
