• Well. I tried 7 different blogwares. I’m grateful for WordPress and am committed, thank you for making it possible.
All’s well, and ready to roll, except only the newest post has a date (and the header that goes with it). Posts 2 and up have no date. So, I can’t go public yet. Here is my site: http://www.iyume.com/blogs/ What I’ve tried: 1) hunting around the admin pages; 2) replacing the index.php and wp-layout.css with original defaults. The problem is the same. I’m not a php programmer… I’d appreciate any help, thanks,

  • If you post multiple times in the course of ONE day, only the current one shows the date. But, try posting on another day, and you should see that provided it’s the most current, or only entry for that day, the date does show up.
I will admit, though, that I would like to know how to change that option myself. I kind of like my time stamps giving all the information, regardless of whether there is more than one post in one given day. 😉

hi, thanks for your letters and info. I realized, as the fried haze of setup wore off that as ShelbyYY mentioned, I’d actually only posted to the blog within one day. Checked another WP blog and yes, dating is only once each 24 hr. period. Shoulda caught that . . .
The <?php the_time() ?> trick worked perfectly, thanks ohdear, very cool. I applied “j M, g a” [month date hour am/pm] to the time field and removed all inputs from the date field. Nice: does what I want now. phew.
