Title: Losing Data after updates Last modified: August 30, 2016 --- # Losing Data after updates * [willywiz69](https://wordpress.org/support/users/willywiz69/) * (@willywiz69) * [11 years ago](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/losing-data-after-updates/) * Over the past 6 months, every time I update I lose another function on my wordpress. I am not losing photos but have nothing in my gallery. On my dashboard setting page for media gallery, it says I have over 3000 photos, yet will not list them. I am no longer getting data statistics for my site on my dashboard. I use BASTATS. Also, on my pages where I have photos, the thumbnail for main photos is no longer viewable. When I go in to main edit directory using my Yahoo business accounts, all photos are in their correct folders. I do have backups for my entire site, and when reinstalled, problems still remain. One other note. Although comments are enabled, I have no comments and system will not allow comments to be posted. I need this resolved as soon as possible. The other URl is what we use for business itself. I really like that one. This all started when I did the word press updates. It seems like every time I do an update I lose something else. I do not get any error messages. Can you give me a little more detail on exactly what to rename and where. On my dashboard, I still did not have media library, no stats and no comments. The themes are loading same information on each one, but the dashboard never changed.
