Loosing Googe Drive authentication on most backups

I have been backing up to Google drive for about a year with no problems.

About two weeks go most back ups started failing.

I have increased the maximum execution time for PHP scripts to 900 seconds, and reduced the reduced the archive split to 50 MB, but this has not resolved the problem.

During a back up, after all the temporary backup files are loaded on to my server, often Updraft reports that there is no authentication to access Google Drive. If I notice this while Updraft is waiting to try again, and I re-authenticate to Google drive, then the backup then successfully completes.

Obviously this could be a Google Drive problem, an Updraft problem, or a server problem.

Was about to post that I was having the same issue – been struggling with it for the last hour. I have just created a new Google account and redone the authorization etc and it still wouldn’t work – no token.

But – just tried again and it appears to be working now!

So I suspect it may have been an issue at Google’s end – try again hopefully it’ll work!

Another backup failed due to no Google authentication.

I then wiped all my Updraft settings via the Advanced tab, and that seems to have fixed the problem.

Hi,

If there is an issue with the connection between your site and Google, then authentication can be lost.

If the issue occurs again, please could you send us a copy of the log for the failed backup?

Hello,
I’ve the same problem here. Tried the same thing (cleaning settings in advanced tab, deleting updraft app from google drive account and starting all again).

Each time I try again I always have the same error message:
Nous n’avons pas encore reçu d’information d’accès de la part de Google – vous devez autoriser ou ré-autoriser votre connexion Google Drive.

Hi,

Please could you try adding the following line of code to your wp-config.php file:

define('UPDRAFTPLUS_IPV4_ONLY', true);

near the top of the file.

Then could you attempt to authorise again?

Not a good idea!!

The result was a fatal error

What PHP version is running on your server?

Apologies for the delay.

Please could you change the line to:
define("UPDRAFTPLUS_IPV4_ONLY", true);

and place this just below the database information in wp-config.php

After adding the line, did you re-authorise with Google Drive?

After authorising with Google Drive, Did you see a success or error message on the UpdraftPlus page?
Could you try again, and send me a copy of that message?

I have added the code to the wp-config file just below the database info successfully.

I then re-authorised with Google successfully, with no error messages.

I will report back later on the success of my backups.

Hello,
Your line is in my wp-config.php file.

I have logged out and then back again. I still have the problem.

I’ve double-checked by deleting the updraft config and logging again but the problem is sill there:

I’ve found this in the log file:
ERROR: Have not yet obtained an access token from Google (has the user authorised?)

I don’t understand. I’ve the same kind of WP website with the same server (Gandi.net) and Updraft works fine with Google Drive. I’d gladly change to Dropbox but there’s more free space with Google Drive.

Hi,

Adding

define(“UPDRAFTPLUS_IPV4_ONLY”, true);

to my wp-config file did not fix my problem.

HOWEVER, because I have been getting a “error 60: SSL certificate problem” message, in the Show Expert Settings part of the UpDraftPlus Setting page I have ticked “Use the server’s SSL certificates:” and every backup for the past week has been successful!
