Lose Header on Elementor Events Calendar Page
-
When embedding an events calendar in a page built with Elementor the header of the page completely disappears. I have tried different page templates, embed snippet and Events Widgets For Elementor And The Events Calendar plugin but any events calendar embed prevents anything from showing in the header or sidebar (page footer is visible). Please help.
WP V: 6.8.1
Elementor V: 3.29.0
Events Calendar V: 6.13.1-

Hi @rmintellek ,
Thank you for reaching out.
I recognize how challenging this must be, but let me try to assist you here to the best of my abilities.
When you say embed an events calendar in a page built with Eelementor, are you using an Events Calendar shortcode or native Events Calendar Elementor widgets for this? Do you have the Events Calendar Pro (premium/add-on) installed and activated on your site?
I have tried embed snippet and Events Widgets For Elementor And The Events Calendar plugin.
Hi @rmintellek ,
Thank you for your message and the information.
The Calendar Embed functionality was intended to to be used on external websites (see Embed Your Events Calendar on Any External Website), so this function do not have include your site’s header when embedded on the external website.
On the other hand, the Elementor widgets to embed the events archive (or calendar) to a page or post edited with Elementor is a feature that ships with the Events Calendar Pro (premium/add-on) plugin (see Elementor Widgets for Events Calendar Pro). Are you saying you have the Events Calendar Pro plugin running on your site?
How do I display a page on my website that lists all the events and has the header of my website visible too? No matter how I use this plugin the events URL and Single Event URLs all hide the header of the website. Here is an example of a Single Event URL that also hides the header https://intellek.io/events/iltacon-2025/ this is not using Elementor.
Hi @rmintellek ,
Thank you for your message.
The Default Events Template of The Events Calendar (see Events -> Settings -> Display tab -> Calendar sub-tab -> Calendar Template section -> Events template) uses WordPress’ get_header() and get_footer() functions to retrieve the theme’s global header and footer respectively, as you can see in the
\wp-content\plugins\the-events-calendar\src\views\v2\default-template.phpfile.I don’t have information about your theme, but in most cases, global header and footer is defined in Appearance -> Customize -> Header & Footer. I would recommend reaching out to your theme’s support for further guidance on setting up a global header.
The header works on every other page of my website except for the event pages. This is not a theme issue, it is related to your plugin. The problem only exists when using this plugin.
Hi @rmintellek
Could you try selecting Elementor as the Events template and see if that helps?
You can find it by going to:
Events → Settings → Display tab → Calendar sub-tab → Calendar Template section → Events templateLet us know how it goes.
OK thanks for the guidance. I have set that to “Default Page Template” and that has worked for the event calendar page but the single event pages are not showing the header or sidebar. How do I change that?
Working: https://intellek.io/events/
Not working: https://intellek.io/events/iltacon-2025/Hi @rmintellek ,
Thank you for your message.
If you’re using Elementor Pro, by default, no Elementor template is assigned to events (single views), kindly apply the steps found in the Event Single Template with Elementor Theme Builder knowledge base article to apply The Events Calendar dynamic template for single events to single event views.
As mentioned previously above this is not using Elementor any more. Please forget about Elementor. How do I resolve this with the default page template?
Hi @rmintellek ,
Thank you for your message.
I’m not sure I understand what you mean. Are you saying you have deactivated Elementor and you’re no longer using the Elementor theme on your site?
I am not using Elementor for these pages. It is working with the Default Page Template for the event calendar page but the single event pages are not showing the header or sidebar. If you look at the links I have provided above you will see this.
Hi @rmintellek
Thanks for your response.
It looks like both the Events URL slug and the Single event URL slug are currently set to use
events. This can cause a conflict.Could you try changing the Single event URL slug to
event(without the “s”) by going to Events > Settings > General > Viewing? After making the change, check if it resolves the issue.Let me know how it goes!
I have tried that and it made no difference. The problem still exists.
Hi @rmintellek ,
Thank you for your message, and I’m sorry to hear of the continued difficulties.
Have you regenerated your permalinks (see How to Regenerate Your Permalinks in WordPress) after changing your Single event URL slug to
event? Also, could you get back to us with a screenshot of what you have in Appearance -> Customize -> Header & Footer?
