 * Since the newest version of Yoast, I have had an issue where any post type that
   is an archive keeps looping and never loads while trying to view the admin list
   of posts. It only seems to be affected by archive based post types – the pages
   work.
 * I tried deactivating everything and do a process of elimination which is hard
   I found Yoast was the culprit. The user facing front end works fine just the
   admin side.
 * Downgrading to Yoast version 17.5 prevents this issue for now but is there anyway
   to get you the info you new to look into this?
 * Best!

 * We’re sorry you’re having trouble with the Yoast causing loop on admin list op
   posts. I imagine this can be frustrating for you. We’d like to look a closer
   look.
 * While we are in attempt to gather some more information about the cause of this
   error, would you be able to provide the error log information from your server?
   We want to see if there are any PHP errors recorded in the error log which might
   help us narrow down the cause. You may need to contact your hosting provider
   for this information.
 * We are looking forward to your reply in order to assist you with this further.

 * I just had one of my ecommerce clients contact me telling me they could not search
   for products on the backend because of the looping and crashing issue.
 * So I will grab you the php logs for both the membership site where the posts
   won’t load and the ecommerce site where the products can’t be search for. Both
   errors occur in the admin side. On archive based posts.
 * For now I downgraded all clients to Version 17.5 and all is well again.
 * How do I get you error logs to you?

 * Hi [@markofapproval](https://wordpress.org/support/users/markofapproval/)
 * We recommend first doing a conflict check, starting with a default WP theme such
   as Twenty Twenty and only Yoast SEO v17.6, then enabling your plugins and preferred
   theme, one by one, until you are able to reproduce the issue, so we are able
   to pinpoint which plugin or theme could be causing this issue.
 * The fastest way to rule out any conflict, is to **deactivate all non-Yoast plugins
   and switch to a standard theme** like [Twenty Twenty](https://wordpress.org/themes/twentytwenty/).
 * Please test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not,
   we recommend using the [Health Check & Troubleshooting](https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/)
   plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which **does not affect normal
   visitors to your site**.
 * If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a
   step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: [How to check for plugin conflicts](https://yoast.com/help/how-to-check-for-plugin-conflicts/)
 * After the conflict check, once you are able to pinpoint and generate the error,
   we then recommend logging a bug report on GitHub by following the steps here –
   [https://yoast.com/help/how-to-write-a-good-bug-report/](https://yoast.com/help/how-to-write-a-good-bug-report/)(
   you can include the relevant PHP error logs in your report)

 * Hey Michael, many thanks for your reply. I mentioned in the original message
   at the top that I had deactivated everything and that and it is how I found out
   Yoast was the culprit.
 * I will stage the sites and try again. I am wondering if it is something to do
   with the host – I am with Cloudways and they have lots of powerful backend stuff
   doing on.
 * I was asked to supply the error logs too, thus the reason for asking 🙂
 * If you could just read over the messages under this thread (there are only 5)
   I think it might help give you a bigger picture.
 * Will respond back too on what I found!

 * Hi,
 * Thanks for your response as well. We understand you’ve tried deactivating everything,
   but we just wanted to make sure that it was all plugins (as well as on a default
   WP theme) just to rule out that it could be a theme conflict as well.
 * You’ve mentioned that it occurs where any post type that is an archive keeps
   looping, do you mean such as the edit screen for the default WordPress categories
   or tags overview page?
 * You’ve mentioned your clients are unable to edit the products overview page or
   the members overview page, which all seem to be using custom plugins to generate
   those custom post types, so we’d like to be able to understand if this can be
   reproduced from a default setup.
 * We tried a default test site with the TwentyTwenty theme and only Yoast SEO v17.6,
   and the categories and tags overview edit list page is loading as expected.

 * Hi Michael,
 * I am happy to report I resolved it by installing the “Yoast tester” Plugin and
   clicking “reset indexable tables and migrations” — a thought I had after viewing
   the errors log I downloaded from my server.
 * The former trial by disabling all did not help but this method did.
 * If you wish to share your comments, I think we can then close this?
 * Best!
    Mark.

 * Hi [@markofapproval](https://wordpress.org/support/users/markofapproval/)
 * We’re glad to hear that resetting the indexables using the Yoast Test Helper
   plugin and re-running the SEO data optimization process resolved the problem!
 * We do use the Yoast Test Helper plugin from time to time to resolve any issues
   with the indexables table in the database (such as it sometimes storing incorrect
   data from a staging site, or if there is any corrupted data).
 * We’ll be setting this to resolved. Please do feel free to create a new topic
   if you have any other questions or concerns.
