• Hi,

I have a handful of sites that want to sell appointments. Not like doctor appointments where it’s one person filling one time slot, but more like classes, where a certain limited number of people fill a time slot.

I feel like Woo and other full fledged carts are overkill. Services like Eventbrite may or may not be the right direction. I want the management to be in WP and easy for clients to use to update their events and take payments and customer data.

I could also just do single “buy now” buttons but this doesn’t make adding/managing event dates convenient.

Maybe some kind of custom post type for very simple “products” that are just title, description, image, date, maybe couple other details. But again management has to be simple for the client in the end.

If we could accept payment that is required as well but will have to be an offsite payment gateway since we’re not setup for accepting cards directly.

I’m just looking for plugins and tools to fill the need. Let me know anything you might think of that I could look at.

    Thanks!

  • I’ve used Events Made Easy for a few clients before, but not to quite the extent that you’re asking about. As far as I know it has all of those features, and does accept payment through PayPal, so have a look and see, but I think that’d be a good starting point.

Easy Digital Downloads can be used for events/classes like this.
I have used it on several sites and it would meet all your criteria:

    • Easy to add new “classes” – just like adding a blog post with a little extra information (cost, etc.)
    • Out of the box uses PayPal for payments, but other extensions are available to accept payments through other processors as well
    • Since it is designed for digital downloads, there is no shipping information collected, which streamlines the checkout process
    • Made for downloads, but can be easily modified to be used for services like a class.

Testing out both of those. Thanks!
