Looking for new host, and how to transfer WP blog... (5 posts)

I currently use Yahoo web hosting and I would like to find a new host to transfer my blog to. I would prefer a pay by month option plan if possible.

I'm not sure how to tell on Yahoo hosting how much disk space I use or how much bandwidth my traffic takes up, but I usually put images into my posts, sometimes videos as well. The videos average 3-5 minutes, with some being a little longer. Last month I only got 3,000 to 3,500 page views, hoping to go past that of course though.

Maybe that info can help estimate the space/bandwidth space needed. I would like a hosting service I can easily transfer my blog into as well.

The main reason I want to switch from Yahoo hosting is because I cannot have a custom permalink set, and have my RSS link work at the same time due to Yahoo adding a blank line of code at the start when they are both active. This has been annoying, and I would like to have them both work before I have even more posts that will break once they go custom perma...

I think Yahoo hosting charges my card in 3 or 4 days for the next 3 months of hosting, so getting this done fast would be great, I don't think they will refund me if I don't get this done and cancle with them before they charge me.

Also currently I can only afford in the $10 to $15 per month price range, I know I'm making this hard, but any help would be appreciated.

    look into Hostgator or Bluehost

either will give you more space than you could ever use, for $10 a month or less

Check out fusednetwork.com. Their shared hosting is $10 and they say they will help you transfer your site:

Transferring the site is easy - getting it to work is another matter. If you don't follow the FAQ's samboll points out ... it won't work. Period.
