Looking for E-commerce options: buy product and plan installation date

Hi,

I have some good experience with WordPress as blog website. Now I need to make an e-commerce website. I have been exploring for several days and made already a shortlist of possible plugins I want to go on with.

I still have one feature needed which I haven’t found yet in the demo’s I tried.

I want to buy a product and together with this purchase I want to make an appointment for installation.
Example: I buy a new screen for my iphone and optionally I can make an appointment to get this screen installed.
Example: I own a bike and want some maintenance. So I select product maintenance, with sub options like, brake check, oil refreshment, chain renew etc. Selecting sub options will change the price and maintenance time and maintenance price. Also I would like to make an appointment.

I have looked into the demo of Woocommerce Bookings, but couldn’t find it.

Have you already chosen a method to book the appointments? or a plugin to book the appointments ?
Am I able to book a service without buying a product ?
Am I able to buy a product without booking a service?
Usually we want to push the service purchase just before the user confirms the order.

You could :
– use whatever for eCommerce, then
– use a booking plugin to build the form and mange the calendar, times, dates, confirmations, etc
– insert a hidden field on this form to capture the order number
– insert a shortcode on your payment confirmation page to display the booking form
– onSubmit will capture the order number and other details.

@corrinarusso Thank you for your extensive answer.

Your thoughts helped me and I’m trying to write down on paper my exact needs.

To answer your questions:

– No I did not choose yet any booking method or plugin.
– Customers need to order products, order products combined with an option to make a booking for installation and make bookings for only installation (but I guess the second and third option would technically be the same)

I will look into the suggested links.

Any more thoughts are off course welcome! 🙂
