• Hello All,

I’m setting us a rather extensive portal and could use some help with integrating a few items. I’ve got WP multisite set-up and am wanting to add three different functions to the mix of services for my clients. I’m wondering what your suggestions are for the best way to handle this and avoid the conflicts I’m running into.

    1) I’m wanting to add buddypress for social networking, but when installed with s2Member plugin to manage subscriptions, it disables ability to set-up new blogs (prob because the social network redirects from the dashboard)

    2) I’m also wanting to find a way to allow members of the main site to be able to submit posts that will be displayed on an Events Calendar. (using the Events Calendar plugin)
    3) And, be members of the subdirectory /Articles so that they can submit articles to our Article Directory

I’m wondering how to best handle these functions and resolve the conflict that are arising from each of these additions.

Any thoughts? Thanks for the help and the support!

  • 1 – BuddyPress will still allow users to create more blogs, so not sure what you’re seeing or not seeing. Yes, then can be added from the front side. always could.

2 – from the front end or the backend? From the backend, just add them as authors to the main blog on signup. (there’s code aroudn here soemwhere we can dig up)

    3 – same answer as #2.

    Thanks for the reply Andrea!

Yes, I’m looking to have them be able to post from the backend and be limited to only the “Add New” Post section. In addition, I’d like them to automatically be added to the role of authors on the three separate subdomains when they sign-up for the new blog if that is possible.

    Thanks again for the guidance!
