• Hi, after browsing a lot, looking in the support forums about a specific plugin for randomize and rotating images, i haven’t found what im looking for. And, if so, it doesn´t work for me…

First of all, i´m using WP 1.5.2.3 and Blix Theme.
Well, what i need is quite easy:

    1) A plugin to randomize some pictures on my sidebar with some specific links to pages (they´re just like ad banners but linked to my own sections). I´ve tried adrotator, randomizer, and a better rotator from alistapart.com… None of them worked for me or maybe i just dunno how to use’em properly.

    2) A plugin to randomize some pictures placed on a sticky post in the home page, but they don´t need to be linked anywhere.

All help will be seriously appreciated…

    THX a lot!!

  • You can use the Ad Rotator plugin for this purpose.

If you face any problems with using it comment on the link above.

ok, i’ve already used it… and doesn´t work for me… i think is something about the .txt file, i dunno the correct code to insert in the ads… any help about it too… thx!

What doyu mean with ” i haven’t found what im looking for. And, if so, it doesn´t work for me…”

ElNota, I’m guessing your text file wasn’t configured properly. Make sure you have a different text file for each randomized instance you’d like, and, more importantly, that each random picture/div/whatever is truly only on one line of the .txt file.

I’m using Ad Rotator to rotate 3 different sections of my WordPress-powered travel site. It works great.

I’m using this plugin, also you use to alternate text like witty plugin!!!

You need to be more specific about what code you are trying to insert and what is exactly happening. I use AdRotator on several sites without issues.

The plugin requires text file to contain one ad per line.

Use a plain text editor like notepad, vi, pico, emacs, jext, jedit etc.

If you would like support for the plugin please post your comment on the plugin site and include more details.

    Well…thanks guys for your responses…
@stopthepress (great nick btw): I meant i had found some of them but i haven´t been able to make them work… (just a problem with my bad english, sorry 🙂 )
@gutielua: I already installed this plugin but i dont understand the way it works… or exactly, what kind of code do i have to insert in my sidebar to see random images…
@angusman: well, this is the same problem above… I think im not writing good nor the code on the side bar, and nor the code on the .txt… What i have in each line is something like this:

    <img src=”/images/add1.jpg” />

Btw, Im using mac’s TextEdit, is it a properly program?

Thanks again in advance to all of you!!

The admin screen will let you create any number of advertisement blocks for your WordPress install. From it, you can freely decide which ad will get displayed by default and where. You can even set this up to randomly rotate the ads for you.

The ad space plugin also introduces new post options. These will let you override the default settings for individual posts.

The line should be fine. I am assuming you don’t have quotes at the beginning or end.

Send me your ad code. I will take a look at it. It should be trivial to fix.

Frankly it is the first time I heard a problem with the AdRotator plugin. I would love to find at least one defect 🙂

I’m trying to use this plug in as well but I just get the link to the image I’m trying to display.

This makes me question how good is this plugin anyways even if it shows my image but no link for it so people can go to the site?
