# Looking for a markdown plugin

 * I would like to have small dictionaries on my training site.
 * For that, I would like to use markdown so the experts need not write html.
 * I have tried JetPack but that demands a yearly fee after connecting to wordpress.
   com.
 * I tried enlighter but that is more for code publishing.
 * I have seen others that are deprecated, not updated for years.
 * I would like to have a simple plugin that enables me to write pages in markdown.
 * As I said in the beginning, my aim is to write word definitions as in a dictionary.
 * What do you recommend?

 * Jetpack is free. There are paid levels, but for what you want, it’s free and 
   it supports markdown. Also, I suspect that Jetpack’s markdown will continue to
   work when Gutenberg becomes the editor. 🙂

 * But when I connect my site to wordpress.com only paid options arise.
