Looking for a directory plugin or something close

    I’m looking for a plugin that works like a yahoo/dmoz type directory. I want to enter and keep track of non-profit companies, name, links, description, etc. that are broken down into categories.

    Does such a thing exist for WordPress?

    If not, do you have a recommendation of a plugin that would be a good starting point for me to code the rest? I’ve been considering a link manager plugin and extending it with the additional fields.

    If there’s nothing, do you know of an outside app that I could install in a subdirectory but would play nice with wordpress?

    I do not know of any plugins that would be come close to what you are talking about. Also dmoz is and entire project and not a plugin for a blogging platform. The entire structure of their site is a directory style with a huge database to cross reference everything

    Yep, I was only referencing DMOZ, as I was trying to describe an app that would have some categories that I could place entries in. Then on drilling into a category, you would have a list of entries that you could further drill into. I’m not looking to compete with Dmoz or Yahoo.
