Support » Fixing WordPress » Long Pages/Posts Get Cut Off in TextArea

  • When working on longish posts or pages the content in the textarea of WP doesn’t appear in full when I click “Save and Continue Editing”.

I usually have to refresh the page a few times to get it back.

It was only an annoyance until I accidently saved a long page (instead of refreshing the browser to try and get the full content back) and that cut off a massive amount of content which is now lost forever, it would appear.

Anybody had that problem? Any ideas?

    Cheers,
    Martin

  • WYSIWYG editor on or off?

    off

Could it be your browser? I just pasted literally 50000 words into my write page and hit publish. The post showed up fine and when I hit edit, the entire post showed up in the textarea.

Using Firefox v2.0b1 and WordPress v2.0.4.

using Firefox 1.5.0.5 (it automatically updated something last week) and WordPress 2.0

Could it be a plugin doing it – I’ve added a few lately.

Try deactivating them and trying again.

tks viper – I’ll give it a try.

I believe it is the newish versions of Firefox. I just had to get 1.5.0.6 and my template textareas get cut off. Really can mess things up, but it’s only after I save and view the editing page again.

I really hope this doesn’t happen to my posts or I will DIE.

I can’t go back to an older version of Firefox, because they stopped working ever since I used this program that goes with it to backup settings.

How do I get that new Firefox version?
