I’m not sure whether this goes under the category of support questions, but they say there are no stupid questions so here it goes.

I’m working on a player stats card for a sportsteam and under the last five games played (Viisi viimeistä ottelua) there is a column where it’s shown in which outfield position the player has played during the game (Example page shows the letter J). For now, I have the free version to work with (sorry about that), but at some point I have to convince management to get a a Pro or Max version.

I have one main table which is the database and where all the individiual stats card pick up the stats to different players. Since Tablepress understands only numbers I figured out a way around this.

Does Tablepress understand really long IF formulas? Formulas that have like 10 different variables (is that the right word for this). For example IF [table-cell id=1 cell=>A1 /] is 1 show AA, but if it’s 2 show BB, and so on all the way to ten, but if A1/B1/C1 (and so on) is empty/zero show nothing (“”).

I consider myself an experienced Excel user, but I have never tried an IF formula this long, so that’s why I’m asking, if Tablepress can handle it before I start my trial and error journey.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi!

    Thanks for your question!

Yes, in principle, this should work, and I’m not aware of limitations in the formula parser regarding the length of IF conditions. These can be nested as well.

Just one thing: In order to use the output of the [table-cell ... /] Shortcode in formulas, you will need to use the TablePress Extension from https://tablepress.org/extensions/shortcodes-before-formulas/

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

    Thanks for the quick reply,

Yes I have used the extension in question, since all five tables in that page retrieve stats from the main database. The shorter version was there just as an example.

Good to know there should be no restrictions. I’ll be back pleeding for help if I can’t figure out how the formula works 🙂
