Login Widget Installation (Already have widget script)

Hello. I am trying to figure out how to put in a widget script into my wp site, and actually have it work. The script is simple, it looks like this: <script src=”http://sitename/yada_yada_yada.loginform.php?series=abc123″></script&gt;

I tried putting it into an available footer text widget, but when I went back to my site, nothing was there but the title of the widget. I’m new to all this, so undoubtedly I’ve done something wrong.
