 * Is there a built in way or plugin to have a password protected section of a site
   with some sort of user management?
 * As far as I can see the wordpress subscriber user can still see admin but I don’t
   want that I just want users to view the site.

 * So in general, if I have a “member’s only” section of my site, is it better to
   leverage the roles in wordpress or to create a custom user management interface?
