login username field… replace space with dashes upon login

Hi there,

I’m in a situation where I migrated a bunch of users and they were normalized to a firstname-lastname setup … wtih the dash between them. I want people to be able to login with a space in the username field on the login form.

Any ideas how I would go about this or have heard of an existing plugin that might help?

The community was accustomed to logging in with the space between their names (and we have this setup on other parts of our applications) so to keep the experience consistent, I’m hoping I’m able to just replace that space with a dash when attempting to login automagically…
