I can’t seem to log into my WordPress Admin. I go to the login page through my site, and the login box appears. I type in my correct name & password combo, and click login. All I’m getting is a round loading animation in the middle of the screen, and thats it, nothing happens. I’ve tried in Firefox and Chrome. BOTH have the same problem.

When I’m logged out and visit wp-login.php – the Username, Password, Remember Me & Log In are all the full width of my browser window. If I then press F5, it kinda goes back to normal except the Remember Me Tick Bos is kind of layered over the log In button. So it sits there with a rotating animation and doesn’t ever finish. If I close the tab and open it, I’m now logged in. However anything I do to try and get to the Dashboard or Edit a post gives me the loading animation.

I’ve tried it from my Chrome browser on Android and same thing.

If I enter an incorrect password it does the red error thing and tells me it’s wrong. My site loads fine.

I tried clearing my cache, deleting cookies, no change.

Mid last week I posted from the official WP Android app, the upload worked not a problem. When I try to post from the app now it fails saying ‘Sorry an error occured while uploading the Post. Please try again later.’

    Can anyone help?

  • Have you installed any plugins that might have caused a conflict?

Try accessing your site via FTP and renaming the wp-content/plugins folder, that should disable all your plugins and then you can try again and see if it works. If it does you can then put the plugins back and remove them one at a time until you find the culprit.

That’s if it is a plugin error anyway.

Alternatively you could try installing a backup of your site (and database) from before the error occured, if your hosting account stores backups.

Thank you so much PinkishHue. Worked a treat. I guessed what it was when I refreshed it, I had installed the jquery-mobile plugin so I just added ‘off’ to the end of that folder.

    Thanks again 🙂

Glad to be of help 🙂

(p.s. Don’t forget to mark this thread as resolved)

    Oh yes, will do 🙂
