changed theme directory name via FTP

do you mean you renamed your current theme’s folder?

If not, try switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Fifteen, Twenty Fifteen…) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins). When you don’t have access to your admin area, use FTP or SFTP or whatever file management application your host provides. Navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and switch to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder by adding “-old” to the end of the folder name via FTP or SFTP or whatever file management application your host provides. Alternately, you can remove other themes except the default theme. That will force your site to use it.

make sure when you switch to the default theme all plugins are off.

If no dice, then try MANUAL updating. Download a fresh copy of the WordPress .zip file to your computer, unzip it, and use that to copy up all files and folders EXCEPT the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory. You may need to delete the old copies of files & folder on your server before uploading the new ones. Read the Manual Update directions first.
If you haven’t already done, always backup everything (including your database) before doing any actions, just in case something really goes wrong.

yes, I did it but as I said the only effect I got was to get a blank page even while visiting my website.

    I’ll try to refresh WP…

I manually updated WP to the latest available version (4.1) but nothing changed.
    Any idea?

Your url is throwing an error.

I’m sorry, but I’m not getting anything like this. Tried with different computers and browsers but everything seems to work fine, except I can’t log in.

    – Check the error logs on your server for a more specific error message, and report back. If you need help locating them, ask your hosting provider to help you with that.

    – also, what’s the site url?

I asked my hosting for error logs.
    My website url is: http://www.lastminutetojaffna.com

the front end of your site opens fine for me.

I asked my hosting for error logs.

    and they are…

Didn’t get my host logs but trying to login again I found my website asking me to reinstall WP again.

When I proceed reinstalling, after entering website title and email, I receive this message:

Please post large amounts of code to http://pastebin.com/

    Thread Starter nitraus

    (@nitraus)

ok, the forum doesn’t allow to paste all the error codes on the page.

at the end I have this message:

WordPress database error: [SELECT command denied to user ‘Sql712552’@’62.149.141.49’ for table ‘wp_options’]
    SELECT autoload FROM wp_options WHERE option_name = ‘rewrite_rules’

    Successo!

WordPress è stato installato. Non vi sono altri passi? Spiacenti di deludervi. 🙂

    Nome utente admin
    Password ***
Annota questa password attentamente! È una password casuale che è stata generata appositamente per te.

Translating from italian, it says that WordPress has been succesfully installed and there are no further steps in installation. Then it writes me the password (I concealed) and then when trying to login again I receive the same installation page.

I really don’t know what to do.
