  • Hi I just tried a faulty plugin which produced an error and deleted it immediately but now my login pages show “not found”. I am logged out and my private site is showing to any non logged in visitor at the moment. Please help.

  • Using an FTP client such as FileZilla or your host provided File Manager, rename the errant plugin folder which will be found in /wp-contents/plugins/ to old-plugin-name and run site.

There is no “errant” plugin folder. Never noticed one and it is not showing in the search. Can I download it from somewhere on wordpress?

Seacoast Web Design advised you to rename the plugin (whichever plugin you mentioned above). You can rename it by just adding old or anything like it. Please re-read his instructions.

Why should I re upload the faulty plugin which I’ve deleted?

Rename does not mean re-upload. It is fine if you deleted the faulty plugin. However, if the problem is still persisting, please post your site URL so that we can have a look at it and find out the cause of the problem.
