Support » Plugin: All In One WP Security & Firewall » Login Lockdown and 127.0.0.1

  • Hello,

I’ve noticed that with Login Lockdown on, when a user has three failed login attempts they are now getting redirected to http://127.0.0.1. Previously, they would get a message saying they’ve been locked out. I know that for the 404 Detection there is a setting to redirect people and it defaults to http://127.0.0.1, but there is no such redirect setting for Login Lockdown. To try to resolve the issue, I’ve tried checking options I previously hadn’t checked: “Allow Unlock Requests” and “Display Generic Error Message.” It still redirects me to http://127.0.0.1.

    Any idea what’s wrong?

Hi, did you by any chance enable the following feature.

    Enable Brute Force Attack Prevention:

Did you install a new plugin in your site?
Did you upgrade a plugin then you notice this started to happen?

    Regards

    Hi,
There’s a couple of things you should check:
    – check your blacklist if the IP address is listed
    – also check the “Locked IP Addresses” and “Permanent Block List” tabs in the dashboard menu to see if the IP address is inside one of those.

If you see it unblock it.

    Hello,

mbrsolution, I did not enable Brute Force Attack Prevention or install a new plugin. However, I upgrade plugins monthly along with this one, but wouldn’t be able to pinpoint a specific update to a plugin that caused it.

wpsolutions, when the IP address is unblocked there is no issue. The issue is that when it is blocked due to failed log in attempts, it is redirecting the user to http://127.0.0.1 instead of showing the user a message that they have been blocked.

I noticed that when I disabled 404 Detection this issue went away. Are you not able to duplicate this issue?
