# Login issue with localhost

 * I have downloaded MAMP correctly and am using my Mac as my localhost. I was working
   on setting up my test site using wordpress.org and “x”ed out of the window and
   now I can’t log back into the admin page. I am trying to use [http://localhost:8888/wp-admin/](http://localhost:8888/wp-admin/);
   [http://localhost:8888/testsite/wp-admin/](http://localhost:8888/testsite/wp-admin/);
   [http://localhost:8888/](http://localhost:8888/)
 * Nothing will open because the safari webpage cannot find the server.
 * I just downloaded WordPress last week, so everything should be up to date.

 * It could be a number of things. Maybe try this first:
 * Go to [http://localhost:8888/wp-login.php](http://localhost:8888/wp-login.php)
   or [http://localhost:8888/testsite/wp-login.php](http://localhost:8888/testsite/wp-login.php)
   instead of trying to hit the wp-admin
 * Where did you put your folder containing your WordPress site? Is it in the MAMP
   htdocs folder? or are you pointing to a different path?
 * You can also try stopping the server and starting it again in MAMP.
 * Also, did you add or change the credentials in your wp-config.php file to match
   your local host settings?
