# Login Error Invalid Username

 * Not sure what version of WP I am using because I am not able to login to the 
   website to make changes.
 * Ran the update for 3.8 then had a problem where my website said “Under Maintenance”.
   About five minutes later the site was back up but I have not been able to login
   to my admin panel since then, saying my username and password are invalid even
   though I had not changed the password, and I tried resetting it three times. 
   Each reset did not go through.
 * When I get to my admin login page:

   I get the error:
 * Warning: call_user_func_array() expects parameter 1 to be a valid callback, function‘
   wp_authenticate_spam_check’ not found or invalid function name in D:\Hosting\
   11894642\html\wp-includes\plugin.php on line 199
 * How do I get this to go away and use my Admin site again?

 * Try:
    – switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder
   inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using
   [FTP](http://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients) or whatever file management application
   your host provides.
 * – [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
   by FTP or phpMyAdmin.
 * – re-uploading all files & folders – **except** the wp-content folder and the
   wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a **fresh** download of WordPress.
   Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the
   new ones.
 * – running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php
