About 4 months ago, I tried WordPress 1.2, and it took about a week to debug an issue during install (blank page on Step 3):

Turns out [0]['Type'] works better as [0]->Type in upgrade_function110. (Why? nobody has ever explained this to me).

Fast forward 4 months. I'm trying again with v1.2.2. Same bug in the upgrade_function script. Uggh..

So I manually fixed that, did the install, got my password, logged in, and !poof! I drop back to the root wordpress directory. What's going on?

Check your site_url and home values via phpmyadmin.

If you are actually seeing the directory listing, this might be an Apache issue. Does your httpd.conf file 'know' what to do with index.php ? See the DirectoryIndex section.
