Logical permalink structure with custom post and taxonomies
-
I’ve been working Google like a maniac for this, but can’t seem to find a straight up answer that doesn’t require one to “cut corners”.
I have currently:
- A custom post type called songs.
- A taxonomy called genre, which is hierarchical with multiple children entries.
I want the permalink structure to display in the most logical of forms: mydomain.com/%post-type-slug%/%taxonomy-entry%/%post-slug%. For example:
mydomain.com/songs/trance/progressive/awesome-song or mydomain.com/songs/trance/awesome-song-2 or mydomain.com/songs/blues/southern/alabama/my-awesome-blues-song
I also want:
- An url without the post-name to display category archive. So mydomain.com/songs/trance/progressive displays all songs in the progressive category.
- All other appendable expressions should work as with posts. For example /trackback/ and /feed/.
Thanks in advance!
