# logging on

 * I have been running my own website for years and recently switched to wordpress.
   I have had to change my password more times than I can count over the last 7 
   months and can not figure out what the issue is. When I go to WordPress.org/login
   it takes me to the login page, I log on and it takes me to the “download wordpress’
   page. I can not get to the dashboard to edit my website. This seems like such
   a simple issue but I am stumped on how I can even log into my account. It is 
   updated to the newest version.

 * Well, the reason for that is the fact that wordpress.org is one website, from
   where you can download actual WP installation, and your website running WP is
   another thing completely, with different user/pass combination (hopefully).
    
   If you want to login to your own website, it is located at `www.yoursite.com/
   wp-login.php`

 * Hello Emily,
 * Can you tell me what is the url(domain name) of your website? As far as I can
   understand from your question is that you are trying to login to wordpress.org,
   which leads you to the download WordPress page. Please correct me if I’m getting
   your question wrong.
    You can go to your website dashboard using yourdomainname/
   wp-admin enter your username and password there or please check if you created
   your website using wordpress.com, you can go to [https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php](https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php).

 * Thank you for your help! My domain name is Emilymaephotography.com
 * I went to the page you told me and I get this error message when I can’t logon
   with my information and try to recover my password.
 * “ERROR: There is no user registered with that email address.”
 * I have had this happen a number of times and it doesn’t want to recognize my 
   email, I’m positive this is the email I have been using.
 * Lastly, I had a wordpress.com at one point years ago and inactivated it but my
   new current website is with wordpress.org. could this be were some of the cross
   over confusion is coming from. Hope this makes sense.
