    Hi, there!
Great plugin, very helpful and elegant!

I’ve just found a minor issue with reporting IP addresses. For some configurations (e.g., in the case of my website) Simple History reports the web hosting IP, rather than the actual IP of logged users or failed logging attempts.

The very same problem is raised in this thread and the authors of that plugin have come up with some sort of a solution. Do you think something similar could be done for Simple History?

    Many thanks!

    Hi!

If you click the time of the event you will get a popup/modal window with more info. Is the real ip address available somewhere there?

Hey, yes! Haven’t realised there was this popup. I can see the real address as the _server_http_x_forwarded_for_0 entry, which is consistent with what I found out when I followed the advice in the topic I linked above, i.e., the real IP in my setup is saved in the HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR variable.

So my question, or rather a feature request, is whether you could add an (advanced) option allowing picking the right variable for reporting the IP address (along the lines of what the developers of AIO WP Security plugin did in their latest update).

I understand that might be too minor an issue or I might be the only person in The World interested in this improvement, so no worries if you’re not willing to tackle it 🙂 Thanks for the great work anyway!

Cool, nice to know that the correct ip number was there.

I’ll add that option to my list of feature requests. I haven’t gotten that many requests for it yet, but it does indeed sound like it would be a nice feature to have as an option.

Hope you find the plugin usefull still.
