# Logging in to wp-admin issues.

 * Hello —
 * I have completed my registration on WordPress.org, received my confirmation email
   with a temporary password, logged back in to WordPress.org and updated the password.
   I am able to get into WordPress.org that way, but my user name, password, and
   email will not work when trying to log into my websitename/wp-admin. Do I need
   to do something different to get into my wp-admin area? I am not able to reset
   my password through the prompt on the wp-admin screen, as it does not recognize
   my password either.

 * WordPress.org and your own website are 2 different things.
 * While installing WP on your server you did enter a user/pass and you should use
   that to login to websitename/wp-admin

 * Thanks for taking the time to help.
 * I tried using my host password and user name (my host is GoDaddy) to get into
   my websitename/wp-admin and it did not work. I then tried requesting a new password,
   but WP does not recognize the email address to register of WP.org. I must still
   be missing a step somewhere in the process?! Any further thoughts?

 * Your WordPress site is separate to wp.org and your hosting account, and will 
   use a differnt username and password – unless you’ve set them all the same (If
   you have, that’s bad).
 * If you can’t get into your own WordPress site and the password reset doesn’t
