Logged in/Appear Logged out

Hello,

A problem I’ve had in the past and then again recently is that although when users are logged in, when they navigate to a page visited while logged out prior to logging in, they still appear logged out. When they refresh, they are now logged in. Is there a way to avoid this and always appear logged in when so? It seems to be related to server performance. I have a dedicated server running 7.2 with php-fpm on twenty sixteen. I can change my server settings. I have a fairly busy site, with around 1000 active members. What would be ideal server settings? Or should I look at something else? Thanks!
