    So now I am trying to trigger the plugin, i.a. with using real long mail addresses, but in the log I find

    That’s irritating. I have emptied the cache prior to making that test registration. /wp-admin/admin.php?page=ss_cache displays it as empty.

  • First test the plugin using the diagnostics tab on the plugin settings. You should see all the things that an email or spam word or IP can trigger.

    If you want to force the plugin to trigger, you have to uncheck the box that adds admins to the allow list, clear the allow list (at least your ip) and then clear the cache and logoff.
