Log Out Error

  • Hello,

When I, or any of my users for that matter, try to Log Out using the button at the top of my navigation bar does not let you and returns the message: “Your are trying to Log Out of WordPress. Please try again” but never allows you to successfully log out. The only way to log out is by entering the Dashboard.

Can anyone help with this error, it is inconvient and frustrating.

    Thanks,

    -Chris

    Hi,

    – Disable all the plugins and enable it one by one to find out the culprit
    – upgrade your wordpress to the latest version
    – remove all unwanted code from htaccess
    – change your wordpress to the default to rules out theme level problem

    Thanks,

    Shane G.

Thanks for the response guys, I will look into it soon…hopefully I can get it straightened out.

I am always so nervous to deactivate my plugins…when I reactivate them will I get all the function back? ( i.e.- user profiles, pictures, etc…)

You should do but it’s impossible to guarantee. You could try backing up your database before you deactivate your plugins. That should save all current plugin settings etc. in case you need to restore them latter on.
